Braxton has a rare condition that makes it hard for him to swallow. The vet tells us it's Achalasia. Which basically means that his esophagus is not opening to allow food to pass to his stomach. The cause is unknown. Braxton recently had a stomach peg inserted to try to fix the condition. He finally has been able to eat some food by mouth, though he still has difficulty with water. His foster mom is working with him towards eventually being able to have the stomach peg removed.

How you can help
Braxton's Veterinary bills have gotten very expensive and more bills are likely on the way as Braxton's condition is healed. Please consider donating even a small amount towards his medical expenses. Remember your donations are tax deductible.

Bryce is a beautiful boy but a little quirky! He gets along great with other dogs and now even the kitties as he pays them no attention. He loves his toys and running around with his foster siblings. He knows Sit, Down, Come and Spin. Bryce will also go to his mat while resting and is crate trained. Things that Bryce needs, he needs a fenced in yard along with other dogs in the family to occupy him while he is idle, he also needs to be crated while you are not home. Bryce does much better in a structured environment like his foster home, if given too much freedom he becomes a little disoriented and will start spinning... Typical of all little dude, Mr. Pibb thinks he is the man! And him being as cute as he is... he IS! This little guy is obviously no Border Collie but who could resist this face?! Mr. Pibb will not be adopted out to homes with small children but to a loving companion home that will not spoil him TOO rotten... meaning this little ones need to be loved but also given boundaries just as much as the big guys/gals. This adorable little guy is busy, busy, busy... but talk about petite and CUTE! Harley is a ball dog and LOVES to play fetch. Little man Peanut is an awesome little dude. He was rescued from a neglectful home where he was kept on a chain 24hrs a day, yet he is still such a sweet, smiley, energetic boy despite his history. He has all the fun quirks of an Aussie but loves to settle and will happily roll over to receive a good belly rub. Little man is great in the car and on a lead with a halter. We're still working on basic commands but it's not out of unwillingness to learn. He loves to herd cats so a home without the temptation would be best. He's good with other dogs, crate trained, and housebroken. Peanut is scared of children, so, no children or children over 12 will be necessary for this boy, he is also timid around men, so males in the house will have to take it slow with him until he gets his confidence. Little orphan Annie is just a cutie and has very cute whiskers, reason we think there is some Terrier in there. She is doing great with her crate training and learning the ways of the house. She loves playing with her foster sister and being part of the family. As all puppies need, she will need continued training and socialization to become the best family member. Donnovan is a very cute smooth coated boy, very social and an overall nice little puppy. As all puppies, he will need continued socialization and training to be the best he can be! It has been our honor to have saved this sweet lady! Ms. Bea should NEVER have ended up in the condition she was rescued, she had terrible skin infections that are still healing, but she is getting better and better as each day passes... She has the most perfect manners and really is a true lady. She gets along great with everyone, even the kitties. Not to mention she has the sweetest, most gentle face of any lady that has come into rescue. Ms. Bea is a gem, now she just needs some polishing to make her shine!! Rhett is one handsome boy and very much a gentleman. He has the most handsome curled tail and fluffy bear coat. Rhett would be best in a home without another male and a submissive female, not to mention sometimes he can get grumpy about things he doesn't like, which thankfully isn't much, but for that fact, Rhett will only be placed in homes with older children. He is a love bug and would love to be with you all the time... He is being fostered near Richmond, VA.

Brando is new to our group but talk about handsome! Brando has one blue and brown eye and the prettiest blue merle coat. He was found in a 10x10 pen and was being fed by a neighbor friend. The sad thing is that he thinks that's where he belongs... in a pen or in a confined area. He is learning about toys, large yards and people wanting to spend time with him. He seems to be good with other dogs and really does want to please and get affection, but not sure what all that means yet... but will lean on you for lovings. He is nervous with youngsters wanting to hug him and new things being done, like grooming and such.... but we believe in time he will realize that it's o.k.... but we can only accept home with older children due to his previous life. We feel sad for this poor boy... but hopefully we can make things all better for him now! He is currently being fostered near Richmond, VA.

Banjo Bailey was adopted out to a home but now he in search of a more suitable home as him and the other female BC in the family are not getting along well. He is super sweet, and loves to run around and play. He would be great as a running partner or in an active home. He showed great ability for agility while in his previous foster home but he will need some training to settle while in classes. He is food motivated along with toys, he is willing to learn and a very smart boy! Not to mention, ears like this don't come much cuter!! And, he has a personality the size of his ears also! He is an attentive compact boy that would do great in an active home. He is a little pushy with other dogs but mostly just plays rough, so a companion dog would have to appreciate that kind of play. Xena is a beautiful black and white with touches of red in her coat, border collie. She is an active girl that will need exercise and mental stimulation. She would be best suited as an only dog or with another male companion.... We recommend homes with older children apply due to her activity level. Xena would be great in an active home.
