Brady is a handsome 2 year old Border Collie/Curly Coated Retriever mix. He is a happy, good natured boy who gets along with female dogs and non alpha males; he is also good with cats. Brady is house broken, crate trained, and rides well in the car. He would make and excellent family companion and does well with children over 8 years. Brady is located near Richmond, VA. Meet Quinn! As you can see he is very handsome, and he is also an all around great dog. He is affectionate, well behaved, and great with other dogs, cats and children. Quinn is about 3 years old and weighs 40 pounds. He is an energetic boy and needs an active home to keep him busy and happy. Margo is pretty Australian Shepherd/Sheltie mix. She is quite the lady and needs a great family to appreciate her good manners and charming personality. She is about 5 years old and 40 pounds. Pretty Chloe is a 2 - 3 year old Border Collie mix. She has excellent manners, a wonderful disposition, and is great with children, other dogs and cats. Eli is a handsome tricolor with a beautiful rough coat. He is about 3 years old and has a wonderful, gentle disposition. Prior to rescue this boy spent his life in a pen, so he is learning to deal with life in a household. Eli loves being inside and has made great progress. He is crate trained and working on house manners. Eli is fairly outgoing and with a bit more confidence, would do well with agility training. He is good with children and other dogs, but requires supervision with cats. Car rides make him nervous but he settles down after a few miles. Foster is an adorable 10 week old Border Collie/Beagle pup. He is outgoing, playful and just loves attention. Foster thinks chasing his own tail is so much fun and he already knows how to go up and down stairs even though his legs are on the short side. He is crate trained and doing well with house breaking. Meet Tanner…. Tanner is a handsome, sweet boy that will need continued guidance as he grows out of his adolescent shyness and gains additional confidence as this boy is only approx. 1 year old. Once he knows you are his human, you have a friend for life. He is very shy around others upon first meeting and will need someone patient and dedicated to socializing him even more than he has been in foster. Border Collie experience and preferably another Border Collie in the family is preferred if not required. Tanner will also not be placed with small children (children under 15) or small animals. He is good around cats but your cat MUST be dog savvy. Tanner has tons of herding drive and may be a great herder one day but we are really looking for a “hobby herder” for him. He hasn’t shown a great interest in toys yet as there are too many other Border Collies to herd instead in his foster home! When this boy isn’t herding others around and playing, he is lounging on the sofa or at your feet. He has excellent house manners and knows basic commands of Sit, Down and Come. He is completely house and crate trained and just a joy to have around… BUT he will need continued help to overcome his shyness/fear with strangers and definitely with children. Jynx is a lively 7 month old smooth coated Border Collie. This pretty girl is very affectionate and loves to spend time with her foster mom. She is good with other animals but can be a bit assertive with other dogs. Jynx is focused and seems to have some herding interest so she definitely needs a family experienced with Border Collies, that will provide lots of physical and mental activity. T.J. is a smaller Border Collie mix puppy. He is 6 months old and weighs approximately 25 pounds. We estimate that he will be around 35 pounds when he is full grown. TJ is an excellent puppy. He is very good manners and a sweet, loving personality. TJ likes to snuggle. He is crate trained and doing very well with housebreaking. TJ gets along well with other dogs and enjoys playing with the other puppies in his foster home.

Hazel is a petite Border Collie mix puppy. She is 6 months old and approximately 25 pounds. We estimate that she will be around 35 pounds when she is full grown. Hazel is very sweet and friendly. She has a lot of energy and loves to play with other dogs. Hazel is also an excellent swimmer. She is crate trained and doing very well with housebreaking. Even though she has a lot of energy, Hazel has excellent house manners and settles down nicely when she comes inside.

Ace is a Border Collie/Brittany Spaniel mix with a wonderful disposition. He is outgoing, good natured, and loves toys and attention. Ace is very athletic and would do well with agility training or make a great jogging buddy. He is good with other dogs and cats. Beck is a striking 8 month old Border Collie puppy. Beck has a curly coat and bright blue eyes. Both are rare traits in Border Collies. Beck has a typical Border Collie puppy personality. He is very playful and loves romping in the yard. Beck likes people and gives excellent kisses.

Darla is a beautiful ABCA registered Border Collie. Darla is 6 years old and very well behaved. She is a uniquely marked split face with a personality that matches her beautiful appearance. She has excellent house manners and walks nicely on a leash. Darla is very loving with people and prefers to spend her days hanging out in the house or sleeping on her dog bed. Darla and her daughter, Katey, are both available for adoption and the pair would make an excellent addition to a quiet household looking for two wonderful companions. Darla can be placed with Katey or individually. She would also do well as an only dog.

Winston is an adult male mix (probably border collie and lab?) – about 6 or 7 years old – who has had some rough treatment in his past. He is looking forward to a happy future with someone who loves him and preferably will let him snuggle on the couch. He is housebroken, leash- and crate-trained and travels well in the car. Winston is great dog who is a joy to walk on leash. He easily keeps up with our active household but does not require a huge amount of physical activity. He’s happy to go for a walk or run if that’s what you want; if you’d rather sit on the couch and watch TV, he’s happy to do that too. Winston gets along well with other dogs but would be happiest as an only dog or with another quiet, laidback dog. He lives and gets along well with cats but, like many border collies, he does like to stare at them. He is neutered, up-to-date on all of his vaccinations and weighs 55 pounds. Winston suffered an untreated fracture to his left hind leg prior to being rescued. According to our vet, he has healed well but will always be a little gimpy on that leg. When the leg was x-rayed, we found out that Winston was shot in the hindquarters with buckshot in the past but this doesn’t bother him at all now. Despite the rough ride, Winston has the heart of an angel. He can be a little shy meeting new people but he is steadily becoming more confident and outgoing. Once bonded, he does not wander and likes to stay very close to his person. His favorite activity is snuggling and being loved on. While he has had little training, his manners are excellent. He does not jump up on people and his recall is wonderful. Winston is very easy to live with and does not require a great deal of training or work to make a wonderful pet. Flare is a handsome purebred Border Collie puppy. He is eight weeks old and very energetic. He loves to play with his siblings and is very friendly with people. Flare likes to play with toys, too. Flare is more cautious than his siblings and tends to think before deciding to investigate something new. Flare’s parents are working sheepdogs that live on a farm. We expect that Flare will have a lot of energy like his parents. Because of this, Flare needs an active home that is experienced with Border Collies or a similar breed.

Flash is a handsome purebred Border Collie puppy. He is eight weeks old and full of energy. He loves to play with his siblings and is very friendly with people. Flash likes toys and already knows how to fetch. His favorite toys are squeaky toys or an empty water bottle. Flash’s parents are working sheepdogs that live on a farm. We expect that Flash will have a lot of energy, too. Because of this, Flash needs an active home that has experience with Border Collies or a similar breed.

Shadow is one of the coolest dogs I've ever fostered. This boy was born and rescued in Texas and has the personality the size of Texas! He was adopted back in 2007 in Texas and has now made his way back to his foster Mom in Virginia due to some family issues. This handsome fellow has been thru lots of changes but takes it all in stride. He is a little nervous with strangers at first meeting, but once he knows you are good people, you have a friend for life as we found out. Shadow has not seen us since Dec. 2007, during transportation back to Virginia, I was told how shy and skittish he was with everything... just the sound of my voice... he perked right up and became the Shadow we all adored! The transporter were shocked at his transformation... Are you looking for a soul mate that will love you thru good and bad, thick and thin? Shadow could be your boy... he is completely trained with tricks and loads of personality. He is VERY food driven and will do just about anything for a treat! Shadow is approx. 3 years old now, utd on all shots, neutered and microchipped. He is good with other dogs (but not submissive), cats and children. He will need continued guidance with strangers using positive reinforcment training. Shadow is a very special boy to us and we are looking for that special forever home... are you that home?
