Snickers is a border collie cattle dog mix who is absolutely as sweet as his name. He came into rescue overweight and has trimmed up and gained lots of energy! He is estimated to be around 5 years old. Snickers ignores my cats and gets along well with my two dogs. He's learned to play with toys, too. He knows some basic commands like "sit" and "wait". He is not food possessive or food motivated for that matter. He has the cutest habit of sitting up on his haunches and begging when he wants attention. He also does it when he is excited to see me when I get home from work.
Although Snickers is a fantastic, sweet and wonderful, he is herding dog and could benefit from some training. I walk him on a halti and he is overly interested in people moving and dogs on our walks. He has been very interested in cars passing by, as well. He is also very suspicious of strangers coming into the house and is slow to warm up to people but once he does he is all sweetheart. Snickers would benefit from some training and someone who can exercise him! He is very praise motivated. Although he is fantastic with older kids, he is nervous around anyone younger so a home with teenage children and up is best.
Snickers is being fostered in the Reston VA area. For more information you may email firstname.lastname@example.org or fill out an application below and a volunteer will get back to you.
