Jessie was pulled from a rural North Carolina shelter just before the holidays. He was only about 3-4 months old and had been kept in a box with no socialization for the first few months of his little life. Needless to say, he was not too fond of people at first.
Jessie is now about 5-6 months old and doing well. Once in his foster mom's home, he quickly warmed up to the family, 4 large dogs, and one very dog friendly kitty. He gets along great with the dogs but he tries to play with the cat and doesn't get much love in return!
Jessie is super sweet, loves to play, cuddle and eat. However, he needs to go to a home that is dog savvy and understands how to work with him. His family will need to take things slowly, and let him trust on his terms.
Jessie is UTD on vaccinations, neutered and learning basic obedience. He is also mostly house trained!!!
Jessie needs a home without children, preferably with at least one other dog to continue to help him learn the ropes of being a dog. His foster is also requesting that you only apply to adopt if you live in the Richmond or surrounding areas.
If you are able to give little Jess the home he deserves, please fill out an application online at www.arcbcr.org.
