Atlantic Region Central Border Collie Rescue, Inc., (ARCBCR) located in Richmond, Virginia, is a dream come true for a passionate group of border collie lovers who had the good fortune of meeting and befriending each other through past rescue work.
The purpose of ARCBCR is to rescue border collies, border collie mixes and other herding dogs from situations that are neglectful, abusive, and endangering. We take in dogs from shelters, those found as strays, and those that can no longer be kept by their current families.
ARCBCR provides the following for each and every one of our dogs: a loving and caring foster home, all necessary veterinary care, and any rehabilitation a dog might need enabling it to acclimate into its loving, forever home.
Our adoption donation is tax deductible. You can be assured that each and every penny goes back into the next dog we take in. The reality is, while you are making arrangements to take home your new family member, one of our volunteers is making arrangements to evaluate and rescue the next ARCBCR dog in need.
ARCBCR members know that it’s ALWAYS all about the dogs.
We are committed to evaluating every dog and every applicant to ensure that we adopt and place every dog into the hands of the best possible family for that dog.
All dogs are spayed or neutered, kept current on all vaccines, heartworm tested and current on heartworm and flea preventative.
We’re glad you’re here. Spend some time with us. Have fun learning about each of our dogs, and please feel free to contact us regarding adoption, volunteering, or donations. We look forward to hearing from you!
ARCBCR is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit rescue making your donations tax deductible.
Atlantic Region Central Border Collie Rescue, Inc. (ARCBCR) is a nonprofit border collie rescue organization located in Richmond, Virginia. We work with border collies, border collie mixes and other herding type breeds.
We take in dogs primarily from Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia and Maryland. These dogs come to us for various reasons - some are neglected, some abandoned, others unwanted. We work closely with various state and local shelters, pulling dogs that are at risk of euthanasia. At times, other rescue organizations will contact us, and we help them with placements as well.
All of our dogs wear ARCBCR identification tags attached to their collars while in foster care. We highly recommend you keep the tag attached to your dog’s collar once adopted or replace it with one of your own.
We are an all volunteer rescue group with a dedicated volunteer network. All of our dogs are fostered in the private homes of our volunteers. In addition, our volunteers provide transportation in a multi-state area, and assist in evaluating the homes of applicants.
We make every decision with the following thought in mind:
It’s Always All About The Dogs
