Kirby is a 2 year old, 65 pound energetic and playful puppy who loves head scratches. Kirby is crate trained and easily learns new commands. He loves to play with other dogs, especially those who match his energy level and he gets along with cats.
He is not neutered. He turned a year right before we moved back to the US, and we're advised by a few trainers that neutering him with how his anxiety is would not be a good idea, so we hadn't had it done
Kirby, although friendly with children, would do best in a home without small children due to herding instincts and a mild food guard he developed.
The reason for needing to rehome him is because we are a military family and he did not react okay to his first PCS ( Permanent Change of Station). We can never put him through another one again. He did develop food guarding due to it and we have a toddler and a kindergartner at home. Our toddler has learned how to move the barrier out of the way that separates the crate and him, and it is a constant anxiety during meal times that he will put his fingers in the crate. We believe a home with no small children and way bigger space than we have would be best for him.

With the groomer he nipped her nose because he air snapped as she moved towards him to see his paw better. He didn't purposely attempt to bite her, but unfortunately did break when he did.
With our daughter it was a few days after we arrived in our new home and he was anxious. She was walking quietly towards him and my husband startled him bad, he air snapped and ended up breaking skin. He immediately put himself in the crate. Both incidents happened due to his stress with the moves.
With dedicated love and attention, Kirby will thrive and be an amazing companion. If you are interested in Kirby you can email bolten.diane@gmail.com or fill out an application below.
