Coco is a sassy, energetic, and loving 3 and a half year old female flat-coated retriever/border collie mix. She came from a shelter in North Carolina and is learning how to be a city dog. She has a fondness for lying on the couch and getting pets and cuddles, enjoys going on long walks with her foster sisters, and she especially enjoys playing in the snow. She is crate trained and house broken and sleeps well through the night. She is still learning how to walk well on a leash, travels well in the car, and would love an active owner.

She loves playing with her squeaky toys, chasing balls, and chewing on her Nylabones. Coco would be ok being an only dog or in a home with other dogs; it is doubtful she would do well with cats. She has a strong prey drive and would love to chase squirrels all day. Coco is very playful and enjoys playing with her older foster sisters (both flat-coated retriever/border collie mixes).
Coco has lived with kids before and would be a great family dog. She is about 45 lbs. right now and is a bit underweight. She is food motivated and should be easy to train, and she already knows the command ‘sit’. She has very soft, fluffy fur and would love to chill with you on the couch watching tv.

Coco is spayed, microchipped, up to date on all vaccinations, and is on heartworm and flea/tick prevention.

Coco is being fostered for ARCBCR in the Alexandria, VA area. For more information about Coco, please contact her foster mom at and/or fill out an adoption application.
