Sophie is an adorable and very sweet little girl. She is a Border Collie in miniature at about 14 lbs and a little over a year old. Sophie was rescued from a hoarding situation in Southern Georgia where she and the other dogs she and the others were abandoned with an oncoming hurricane. She arrived into rescue terrified and nearly starved. To the best of our knowledge she had never been touched by a human during her short life and it has taken her a bit of time to learn to trust people.
Over the several months since she arrived into foster care Sophie has learned that her future life will hold the promise that a sweet little girl deserves to have. Sophie is a loving little girl with a bubbly personality. Though she takes a little time to warm up to people she doesn't know, once she does she is just delightful. Sophie is going will be a wonderful companion and a joyful little friend with her constantly wagging tail and happy behavior.
Sophie is now spayed, up-to-date on vaccinations, and is learning her house training. She has learned to walk nicely on a lead and enjoys going for walks. Sophie's ideal future home would be curled up next to her person in a quiet and safe environment. Sophie, with her mini size is suitable for smaller homes and would do very well in an adult home. She loves other dogs and would be happy to have another dog companion but that is not a requirement.
She has not been cat tested but should not be a problem with cats. Sophie is available for adoption.
Sophie is being fostered in Northern Virginia. If you are interested in Sophie, you can apply to adopt below.
