Echo is a young bc cross given up by owners who were moving and couldn't take him. He was well taken care of and is in great health. He was a house dog and loves nothing more then being with a family where attention abounds. Previous owner said he is good with kids.
He is also athletic and has a nice energy level that can handle an active family for jogging, hiking, etc. He will need regular exercise but is not over-the-top.
Echo is just over a year old. He is great with people, friendly, well mannered (but can use some basic training). He is currently showing a need for dominance with smaller or submissive male dogs but relents with dominant males. Good with females. The owner said he is also okay with cats. His urge for dominance will likely settle down as his nuetering kicks in.
Echo has some herding tendencies... chasing and circling his other canine companions when running. So, he would be best suited to an only dog home or with dogs that will either tolerate his antics or teach him to let up. Probably not a good dog park prospect.
Echo is a nice size... tipping the scale at only 37 pounds. And, he has a beautiful, easy care, smooth coat. He is utd on vaccines, nuetered and on heartworm and flea/tick medications.
Echo is being fostered in Apple Grove, VA, just west of Richmond by the Atlantic Region Central Border Collie Rescue. For more information contact his foster mom at firstname.lastname@example.org. or apply to adopt below.
