Nicholas is a 5 year old Border Collie Mix, probably Golden Retriever in there. Nicholas is a friendly dude who likes lots of love and attention. He is good on the leash and knows to sit for attention even though he really wants to jump on you for even more love. He is smart and playful but also sensitive and takes a little time to come out of his shell. While he is athletic and up for dog sports and adventure, with beautiful long legs, he also settles down in the house and can relax.

He is living with two other dogs in his foster home and gets along well with them. They all respect each other’s boundaries. However, he occasionally resource guards his food, person, and toys from other dogs (not from people). He'll benefit from an experienced owner or someone who is willing to learn about dog behavior and take time to teach him good dog manners.

Nicholas has met middle school children, small dogs and a variety of people on our walks. He is friendly and polite with them all. He is house and crate trained but likes to chew pillows and soft blankets. He has been picky about his meals, but has been improving as he settles in. He has a ton of personality waiting to come out for the right person.

Nicholas is being fostered in Northern Virginia, Reston. If you would like more information about Nicholas you can email or apply to adopt below.
