Chase, also known as the “BFG”- the Big Friendly Giant- is a big, handsome, gentle border collie boy. This super healthy 8 year old guy came to us from a family with seven children who just didn’t have time to devote to him anymore. He is wonderful with children of all ages and is sweet as can be.

Chase is about 65 lbs. right now but could do with losing some weight with exercise and diet. He is very tall- around 25” at the shoulder. Chase loves to play fetch with a ball or frisbee, and very adorably gallops around the yard with his toy once he’s retrieved it. He does great on a leash and loves to go for walks. He is crate trained and does well in his crate during the day when his foster parents are at work.

Chase is a medium-Velcro dog: he likes to know where you are but isn’t always under your feet (he’s also just too big for that!). He settles down nicely if you ask him to go lie down and is very mellow. He loves to be petted and is the perfect size to hug.

Chase does well with his foster dog siblings (both a boy and a girl) and would do fine with other dogs as long as they aren’t too playful and in his face. He gets along fine with cats.. As mentioned before, he is great with children.

Chase is being fostered in the Charlottesville, Virginia area. If you are interested in learning more about Chase, please email his foster mom at or apply to adopt below.
