SCOOTER

Scooter is our second border collie, so we knew what we were getting ourselves into when we got him as a pup. But we have entered into a new season and he is stressed. We have two other dogs in addition to Scooter and that has its own challenges.

Scooter gets along well with other animals, but he is a bit jealous. He requires a lot more attention and exercise than we can provide him. He is bored, simply put and that’s not good for this breed. Scooter is 7, he is loving and affectionate once he knows you! He can seem protective when he meets people for the first time but he doesn’t bite, just barks.

He is not neutered but he is up to date with all shots. He takes his heartworm and flea meds every month like a champ. We feed him a raw diet and he is very healthy.

He has had a few seizures in the past, but the vet has assured me that they are okay and will not affect his quality of life or cause any damage. He does not take any meds for it. It really only happens a few times a year, I suspect it might be stress related?

He is good with other animals like I mentioned and while we do not have cats, he visits the neighbor and she has 3. They get along fine. We love Scooter and want to make sure he finds a good home. He is a great dog but he needs to have a place where he will have the attention he needs to keep his smart brain stimulated. He also knows several commands and is a quick learner.

I’ll provide a crate, his meds and al his favorite toys to whomever is lucky enough to adopt him.
