JUNO

Juniper ("Juno") is a 3 1/2 year old beautiful, highly-intelligent and deeply sensitive pure-bred border collie with a heart of gold. She is incredibly loyal and affectionate and bonds closely with her people. Like many border collies, she is highly intuitive and tuned into her surroundings, which means she thrives in the peace and space of a rural environment. I adopted Juno from a breeder in Kansas at 15 weeks old. She has been such a joy, but life in an urban or even suburban environment is overwhelming for Juno, and it is clear that what she needs is a calm, natural home - ideally a farm or large rural property - where she can have the freedom to run, explore and use her keen mind and working dog instincts.

Juno loves other dogs and cats.  She has been raised in a home with a golden retriever and a cat, and the home has been filled with many dogs and cats of family and friends. Juno gets along beautifully with all of them (she particularly loves my Dad's miniature white poodle who she treats with loving watchful care as though the poodle is a tiny sheep Juno needs to watch over).  While Juno is amazing with other dogs off leash (in homes, at dog parks, in open nature, etc.) she can feel scared and sometimes be reactive of particular dogs when on leash (especially german shepherds as she was attacked by one at a dog park) where she is not able to control the situation by running if she feels threatened.

Juno is so full of joy when she is outside and able to run - she has had grand adventures in her life already - she travelled with me, my golden retriever and cat around the south of France for 3 months, running through fields and vineyards, racing through mountain trails, swimming in the sea.  While she has a border collie's typical degree of high sensitivity, her life experiences have taught her to be open to new places and experiences.

Juno has been very, very well loved and cared for as the precious soul she is.  While she is full of life and energy and runs like the wind, she is also so full of love and sweetly affectionate - she loves to cuddle on the sofa and will lay at your feet when indoors to keep you company.

The decision to find a new home for my sweet Juno is completely heartbreaking, but I truly want what is best for her.  A change in my personal life has put me in a position where I need to move from a large house with a large outdoor space to a small townhouse in an urban area without any yard.  After 3 1/2 years loving and caring for Juno, I have come to know her so well, and I know what kind of  environment she needs to thrive. I am committed to finding her a forever home in the kind of environment where she can expand into the fullest glory of who she is meant to be.

Juno is spayed, microchipped, up to date with shots and is around 45 lbs. If you would like more information about Juno you can email lashanklin@gmail.com or fill out an application below.
